

John Mitchell late of Regina, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 81 on Sunday July 5th, 2026. John was born August 10, 1944, in Brantford, Ontario and resided in Southern Ontario until 1956. This is where the family moved to a farming district within Grayson, Saskatchewan. John worked on his Uncle Val’s land prior to moving to Regina in 1964. John met his life partner, Francis Mitchell and was married February 19, 1966. During their 55-year marriage they had 4 children. John and Fran moved to Regina in 1971. John worked for the Gulf Farm Center then onto Petro Canada and prior to retiring worked Mobile Propane until taken over by new management. John was predeceased by his wife Francis Mitchell and parents Evelyn Jakubowski and Donald Mitchell; sister Pat Mitchell; brother Norbert Jakubowski. He is survived by his children Michael (Belinda), Darren, Barry (Tamara), Michelle (Wayne); and 11 grandchildren Jonathan ,Chelsey (Ryan), Nathan (Mary), Samantha (Zach), Brandon (Kia), Landin, Devin (Kaitlyn), Dakota (Dustin), Kourtney (Dominic) Chad, Chance ; 21 great grandchildren; Jayk, Brysen, Kyden, Neleah, Emmette, Violette, Daymin, Hayley, Auna, Addison, Aydyn, Chelsea, Graysten, Avery, Brinley, Josh, Caroline, Lucas, Jackson, Chase, and Rebecca; sisters Mary Bishop, CarolLynn Duchek; brothers Bill Mitchell, George Jakubowski, Donny Jakubowski, Joseph Jakubowski, Clifford Jakubowski, Gord Jakubowski. He loved family, fishing, camping life, and lived it to its fullest. Anyone who knew John would agree he had endless passion for mechanics. He was always there for anyone who needed help. He was our rock and will be deeply missed.
