

John, known to everyone as Johnnie, was born June 21, 1928, in Cupar, Saskatchewan.
Johnnie was the second youngest of eight children born to Theresia and Ike Schulhauser. Johnnie was the only one to graduate from high school, to leave the farm and to go to university. He worked for Westinghouse in Calgary for 28 years and lived in the city until his passing.
Johnnie was an avid curler. He played hockey, golf and second base in softball. With his father, Johnnie was one of the top ten competitive marksmen in Canada. Between 1957 and 1963, they were the national champions.
At the age of 9, Johnnie picked up playing the saxophone and joined the Schulhauser Family Orchestra.
Uncle’s last performance was Tuesday, June 16th, 2026. He played with Edna and The Boys for 40 years at the Horton’s Legion.
Uncle will be missed and eternally loved by many nieces, nephews and friends.
