In loving memory of our mother, Marion Anne Shelest (nee Kaytor), who passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at the age of 88. Marion will be lovingly remembered by her three children Brent (Roxanne) Shelest with their children Steven and Samantha Shelantyne (with great-grandsons Kaspian and Soren), Matthew and Valeria Shelest, Brenda Havervold (David Fahlman) and her children Kale Havervold (Emily), Zachary Havervold, and Jaida Havervold (Jeremy) with great-granddaughter Paislee, Darlene Shelest (Robert Fox). Marion is survived by her sister Rita (David) Smyth of Vegreville, AB; Barrie Lueck, her companion of 13 years and former son-in-law Brad Havervold, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Marion was predeceased by her father Louis; mother Agnes; brother Edward Kaytor; and her loving husband Michael Shelest. Mom loved gardening and took great pride in her yard and flowers. She happily shared the bounty of her garden with family, friends, and neighbors. She was a spectacular cook. Her perogies and cabbage rolls are legendary. She made delicious meals with whatever dad brought home from his hunting or fishing trips. Mom also shared in dad's passion for fishing and spending time at their cottage at Lipp's Beach. Her love of animals was very apparent by the long line of Chihuahuas that shared our home over the years. Mom always had a crochet hook in her hand anytime she was sitting down. She crafted many beautiful doilies, tea towels and so much more. She loved sewing pillows, pot holders, and Raggedy Anne and Andy dolls.
A Funeral Mass for Marion will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 100 Argyle Street, Regina, Saskatchewan S4R 4C3.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marion's memory may be made to The Regina Humane Society, 79 Armour Rd, RM of Sherwood, SK S4K0A8. Thank you. We love you Mom!
