Martin is survived by his sister Christal in Germany and numerous nieces and nephews. His wife of 66 years, Johanna. His children, Doris Anderson, Harry, Henry (Christine) and Rita (Stacy) Hughes. His grandchildren, Christine (Christopher) Seibel, Brett (Harly), Kurt, Sarah, Elizabeth, Dylan (Mallory) Hughes, Hedy (Mike), Frazer (Ashley) and great grandchild, Aveline. Martin was born in Copsa Mica, Romania. He survived some harrowing events while serving in World War II. He met and married Johanna in 1951. He immigrated to Canada for a one year work term to a farm in Douglas Ontario. Johanna and Doris joined him six months later. They moved to Toronto where he worked at Toronto’s Sick Children’s Hospital. Later they moved to Regina where they built their first home. He worked in construction and then as a fitter for Westank and then to Westeel-Roscoe where he did many jobs until retirement. In retirement he enjoyed his home made construction projects, bike riding and his grandchildren. He drove till he was 92 when the onset of dementia grounded him. There will be no Funeral Service but an Interment will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 11:00a.m. at Riverside Memorial Park, 815 Assiniboine Avenue East, Regina, SK. A come and go tea to follow at family home 1p.m.-3 p.m. The family wishes to thank Sunset Extendicare and special neighbors Lloyd and Grace.
