With broken hearts we announce Mico’s passing on March 22, 2016. He was predeceased by his Mooshum, Paul Heathen. Mico leaves to cherish his memory, his mom, Jeanine Heathen (Gauvin); Kokum, Claudette Alexson; Mooshum, Dan Lindsay; great Kokum, Charlotte Alexson; Kokum, Brenda Dubois; Kokum, Rose Ahenakew-Heathen; special aunties, Janice, Annette, Paula, Shaneé, Cora, Jaylee, Katie, Janelle, Belinda, Maureen, Charlotte, Roxy and Iskew; Uncle “Bro” Robby Hastings; Uncle, Kristen Alexson (Sharon); cousins, Maci, Zaiden, Aaliyah, Ava, Daison and Seth; he will also be missed by his furry family as well as many more people who took him as family and loved him as much as we did, including our Standing Buffalo circle of friends.
A private family wake and service will be held for Mico’s traditional funeral on Sunday March 27 at 4:00pm and the service will be held on Monday March 28 at 9:00am at the family home, with Elder Mike Pinay officiating. The burial will be at 2:00pm Monday at Kahkewistahaw First Nation Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to come and support the family and our baby’s journey home.
