It is with great sadness that Muriel’s family announce her passing on Thursday, February 6, 2020. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Edward “Chic”. Muriel is survived by her son Howard (Janice); daughter Cathy (Colin) Crocker; and grandchildren Blair, Cody, and Carlie. Muriel was a WWII Veteran. She worked for many years as a matron for the RCMP. After retiring she went back to work at the RCMP Museum until the age of 81. Muriel was a very high spirited and civic minded woman. Muriel was actively involved in the Girl Guides and Royal Canadian Legion Branch #1 where she was the first woman president. She also volunteered with many other organizations that focused on community well-being. Muriel was the recipient of the Lieutenant Governor’s Award, the Queen’s Medal and Governor General’s Caring Citizen Award. She will be greatly missed.
