May 9, 1956 - July 7, 2025
Murray Wild was peacefully called to his eternal home on July 7, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. His passing leaves a deep and irreplaceable void in the heart of his beloved wife, Donna (Dornstauder), whom he married on that very date 46 years earlier—a beautiful symbol of their lifelong bond.
Murray’s memory will be forever cherished by his five children and eleven grandchildren, who were the joy and pride of his life:
Jennifer & Patrick Falastein (Mira, Robert), Ashley & Clinton Thauberger (Jaxon, Nate, Lydia), Evan & Brittney Wild (Ryker, Andrew, Camden), Craig & Shyla Wild (Rhett, Jace, Sadie), and Chantel & Gareth Moore.
Born on May 9, 1956, Murray was the third of five children to Pauline (Reiss) and the late Frank Wild. He is lovingly remembered by his siblings: Diane (Gordon) Schaeffer, Judy (the late Peter) Dielschneider, Don (Laurie) Wild, and David (Carolyn and the late Delphine) Wild, as well as numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Murray’s life was deeply rooted in the land. He was raised on the Wild family homestead southeast of Odessa, which he and Donna took over in 1980. Together, they built a life filled with purpose, raising their family while working the land and caring for their cattle. Even after passing the farm to Craig and Shyla and retiring to Odessa in 2021, Murray remained devoted to farm life, visiting the farm daily. In a fitting farewell, he sowed the home quarter on the very day he fell ill.
A steadfast and generous member of the community, Murray dedicated countless hours to local boards and community projects. His quiet leadership and enduring contributions have left a lasting legacy that will not be forgotten.
The weeks following his diagnosis were filled with tender moments building treasured memories. The Wild family extends heartfelt gratitude to the extraordinary staff at Wascana Grace Hospice in Regina for their compassionate care and for providing a peaceful place to spend their final days together. Deep thanks also go to the many friends and family who surrounded them with love and support during this time.
Murray will be remembered for his unwavering love of family, his dedication to the land, and the integrity with which he lived every day. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A service to celebrate Murray's life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family R.C.Church in Odessa, SK.
For those who wish to honour Murray’s memory, donations may be made to Odessa Holy Family R.C. Church or to Regina Wascana Grace Hospice.
