Richard Paul Kaiswatum Sr.

1956 - 2026

It is with great sadness that the family of Richard Paul Kaiswatum Sr. Kisik - ispaw - maskihkiy yiskwaskwan “Sky-High Medicine Cloud” announce his passing on April 13, 2026, peacefully with family at his side. Richard was born on June 15, 1956. Predeceased by his parents, Ernest (Adeline) Kaiswatum; brother, Deon Kaiswatum (Beaka); his sons, Richard Paul Jr (Rikki), Matthew Derrick and his only daughter Nicole Joy. As well as numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends too numerous to name on Kaiswatum/Cappo side.

Richard is survived by sons, Collin (Shantel), Jade Lavallée and Josh Bird; his brothers, Ernest Beryl, Derwin, Allan (Monica), Greg (Renae), and Claude (Beatrice); his sisters, Annette (Harlan), Patsy, Ramona Alexson, Holly (Sam) Merasty, Sherry, Loretta (Clayton) and Marcy; his grandchildren, Tyler, Micheal, Shane, Declan, Lawrence. He left behind a legacy of extended family and friends. The wake will be held on Friday April 17, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. at Piapot Cree Nation Community Hall. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 11:00am, at the same location. Interment will follow at Piapot Cree Nation Cemetery.
