It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Robert W. Olbrich on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the age of 77. Robert is predeceased by his parents Rosa and Robert Olbrich; infant daughter Lisa and his wife Eva Olbrich. He will be deeply missed by his son Rob (Jackie) Olbrich; grandsons Robbie (Jackie Jones), Riley Olbrich; brother John (Irene) Olbrich; and numerous nieces, nephews, brother and sisters-in-law. Robert was born in Germany October 24, 1941. They immigrated to Canada in 1953. When he was fifteen years old he started his first job with PCL Construction where his father Robert SR had already been working. Through the years, he worked on a number of major projects all over Saskatchewan while also building eight houses and two beach houses for his family. Robert was also an avid hunter, fisherman and snowmobiler and of course, as most knew he loved to dance! In 1998 he lost his wife Eva Olbrich to Leukemia, but he was bound and determined to keep on working. His work took him as far as Ottawa and back then went on to celebrate 50, then 60 years of service with PCL Construction. His yellow truck will no longer be seen parked at The Last Straw Brew Pub where “Lemon Heart” Bob liked to hang out with wih his friends, family and co-workers. We would like to thank the Last Straw and staff and of course, the regulars for making him a part of their family. Thank you so much to Darcy Shepek and the rest of our PCL family for reaching out with their generosity and caring for Bobbie O. and the rest of the Olbrich family, we truly appreciate all you have done for us. Also thank you to the Regina City Police, Paramedics, Coroner, Dr. Lok, friends and family that have supported us through this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Heart and Stroke foundation or charity of your choice in his name.
