She was predeceased by her husband Charlie Dundas in 1987, grandmother Ida Trapp; and mother and step-father Delores and George Barton. Sandy was born and grew up in Regina, eventually marrying her neighbour and best friend, Charlie, in December of 1964. They moved to Edmonton for a short period of time and returned to reside in Regina with family and friends. She worked in the Regina Health Care system for her entire working career, predominantly as a Unit Assistant in the Psychiatric Ward, where she developed long lasting friendships with fellow co-workers. She was a strong willed and independent woman whose primary focus was on supporting her children and grandchildren. She loved her grandchildren dearly making sure she could make it to as many of their concerts and sporting events as possible, even when her health was suffering. The family would like to thank her close friend Sandy Roberts for her friendship, love and support as well as Dr. Leong, staff at the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, the Palliative Care Team and the staff at Wascana Grace Hospice for the support and compassion shown during Sandy’s illness. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Wascana Grace Hospice, Canadian Cancer Society or Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation.
