Andrew Zuy Jr.

Andrew Zuy, Jr., 80, of Reading, passed away suddenly in the Reading Hospital on Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017. He was the husband of Bertha M. (Janiszewski) Zuy for 58 years. The couple married in Hope Lutheran Church on January 24, 1959.

Born in Reading on October 2, 1937, Andrew was one of 12 children of Andrew, Sr. and Anna (Kalabisko) Zuy. Andrew graduated from Reading High School, Class of 1955.

He loved the Penn State Nittany Lions football team and all of the sports teams in Philadelphia. He was a member of the North Mont Association and the East Rod and Gun Club "The Dips".

Andrew loved spending time with his great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Bertha; Andrew is survived by two daughters: Lori A. (Zuy) Quigg and her husband, Charles of Reading and Terri L. Zuy of Reading; two grandchildren: Michael A. Quigg of Reading and Marcie A. (Quigg) Spencer and her husband, Shawn of West Lawn; two great grandchildren: Alexis Elizabeth and Jacob Brady Spencer both at home.

Also surviving is a sister, Mary (Zuy) Vilardo and her husband, Frank of Flying Hills.

Andrew is predeceased by five brothers: John, George, Michael "Misha", Alexander and infant, William Zuy and five sisters: Jane Nicholas, Helen Dalton, Vivian Leibensberger, Sonia Zuy and infant, Vera Zuy.

Services for Andrew will be Friday, December 29, 2017 at 12pm in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Friday from 11 to 12pm.

Aunt Bertha, Lori, Terry and family, I send my deepest sympathy for the loss of your dear husband, father and grandfather. I truly have fond memories of my dear uncle. My vivid memories are fishing and playing sports with him. May God bless his soul. I love you, Uncle Andy.
