Antonio Barrientes was born on May 31st 1934 in Donna Texas. Antonio was the oldest of 12 kids. When his father went to war, Antonio took the responsibility by helping his mother and siblings. Antonio was a hardworking man and always put his family first. Antonio met the love of his life in 1952, Mary (a minister's daughter) who had just moved across the street. When Antonio saw Mary sitting on her porch, for the first time he said, "I knew I would love her forever." After being introduced, the two started writing letters to each other. After writing to each other for a while, Antonio invited Mary to go get a soda at the store, but she ended up packing clothes, and they left to get married to start their new lives together. Antonio and Mary stayed in Texas and had 11 kids, 8 beautiful girls and 3 handsome boys, and raised one loving grand-daughter. After awhile Antonio and Mary traveled for work and ended up in Seattle Washington in 1965. Being a father to a big family, Antonio (as always) worked long and hard to support them. Not only was he hardworking but, on his free time he was a great father to all his children. Antonio would take his kids to Seward Park to enjoy many family picnics, and always made sure every holiday was celebrated. Antonio and Mary raised great kids with love and discipline, which has branched out to one huge family. In 2006 Antonio retired from Seattle Presbyterian Church. He was well respected for all his hard work there. As Antonio became older he started getting sick. Antonio was already a strong willed person but, with each medical problem that he faced made him fight stronger. For the past seven (7) years Antonio has been facing many medical problems but, he fought through them for his wife and family. As every great fighter does, Antonio went down with a legacy of being a wonderful husband, awesome father/grandfather, and just an overall caring, selfless, hardworking family man that anyone and everyone could love. On July 31st 2014 Antonio passed away surrounded by his loved ones but, he didn't go without a fight. Antonio will now be in our hearts and memories forever. Gone but never forgotten.
