His father passed away when he was young and when his first wife also passed away, he became responsible for taking care of not only his mother but also his three sons all on his own. Dad was still very young himself, so the 1960’s and 1970’s were a very difficult time period in his life.
He adopted his only daughter Annie (Ut Hang) in 1975 when she was just six months old. He raised her with care and love in the same way that he did with his biological sons.
After arriving in the United States, dad went to ESL classes and learned some English. He loved fishing and he loved collecting items from Good Will. He also loved bold colors and growing vegetables and flowers.
We were blessed when we arrived in the U.S. to be sponsored by a Christian family Chu Ba Xich from the Christian church. We have been with the Seattle Christian Church for the last 30 years.
When dad’s health became weaker a few years back, he moved into the Angels Adult Family Home in Everett where he received 24 hour a day care. Our family is very grateful for the care he received from all the caregivers as well as the owner, Rose.
Special Words from Annie – “I am the daughter he never had. I will love and cherish the memories, and continue to use the wisdom he taught me for the rest of my life. I will miss sitting with him, feeding him and taking him places.”
Dad went to heaven peacefully in the morning of May 20th, 2020 at 5:00 am.
He is survived by his wife Ba Thi Le, sons Loc Bui (Hong Vo), Thuan Bui (Nhung Nguyen), daughter Annie Zackuse (Joe Zackuse), daughter-in-law Bay Bui, grandchildren Hai, Tan, Huy, Kathy (Nhi), Steven, Amanda (Thao), Bryant, Austin, two great grand and many nieces and nephews. He preceded by his sons Hung Bui and Long Le.
