

Darrel Gene Anarde,72, of Renton, WA passed away September 24th 2025, at Valley Medical Center in Renton Wa. He was born on December 10th, 1952, at McLendons, I mean K-mart, no, no, I mean The Renton Hospital! (Renton folks from this era will get this joke)
Gene, as he went by, was born to Louis Anarde Jr and Gladys (Shelden) Anarde. He grew up within the tight-knit Italian community of Earlington Hill, a neighborhood in North Renton, with his brother Richard, many cousins, and many lifelong friends.
Gene had a gifted mind with an inclination towards math and electronics, which led him into his lifelong passion for ham radio and his career in the aerospace industry. He enjoyed telling tall tails and was fond of stories about Bigfoot and Aliens! He loved tv shows like the X-files and listening the “Coast to Coast” with Art Bell on the radio.
Gene was also a gifted and accomplished musician, with great ability on the piano, accordion, guitar, and singing. He had the ability to pick up any instrument quickly and could play any song after only hearing the tune once.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Anarde, Gladys Anarde, and his brother Richard Anarde. He is survived by his children, Jesse Anarde and Crystal Ainardi, along with his numerous grandchildren, Raven Smith, Gavin Smith, Loula King, Caius Anarde, Isabella Anarde, and Gracie Anarde.
Per Gene’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial
As Gene would sign off, “Whiskey Alfa 7HMU Washington, over and out.”
