David Rousell Dawson was born to the Reverend Francis and Mrs. Dorothy Dawson in Salt Lake City, Utah. The second of four boys, he also lived in Idaho before the family moved to Anacortes, Washington. There he was involved with Boy Scouts and Jaycees, and after high school served 1964 to 1970 in the Army Signal Corps and reserve. At Skagit Valley College he got the education that led to his working for Capital Business Machines, WANG, and eventually Boeing, from where he retired.
With his first wife, Patricia he has two daughters, Kimberly and Erin (1970-2024), from whom there are nine grand children and seven great-grands who all love and miss him. David's second wife Barbara's (who predeceased him in 2019) children and grand children love their "Grampa Dave".
David attended May Valley Alliance, and then East Renton Community Church, where he was an usher, and was the impetus for a seniors' Bible study group.
Everyone knew that if Dad/Grampa was not at home he would be camping somewhere with his trailer and the Good Sam community, with which he was at times the sound equipment operator for Washington State events, a chapter treasurer, and involved with Dogs for the Deaf. David attended Covenant Keepers groups and learned how to stand for his marriage. David loves Jesus and wants you to know Him, too.
The people who worked at and who lived at the place where David last lived would tell his family, "Oh, he's such a sweet man."
