Emanuel Smith

The family of Emanuel Smith would like to thank Rev. Dr. Shelby Tate and the Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Assured Hospice and Staff, and Mr. Michael A. Vann, Sr and the Greenwood Funeral Home and Memorial Park staff. We would like to give special thanks to all who have called, sent cards, sent flowers, visited, provided food, and words of encouragement. Please continue to keep us lifted in prayer. Emanuel Smith, the son of Red and Millie Smith, experienced his sunrise on September 15, 1928 and his sunset on December 1, 2013. Emanuel left Memphis, TN for St. Louis. Emanuel had four sons; Jerome, Emanuel J., William K., and John Edward. He married Carrie Dickerson in May of 1983. Emanuel was hired on at the Boeing Co. in 1965 her retired from there 26 years later. Emanuel loved fishing, barbeque, baseball, playing solitary, being around his family and friends, and just having a beer on a hot Moses Lake day. Emanuel was respected and loved by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his son Jerome Wilson. Emanuel leaves behind his wife of 30 years, Carrie Smith, who never left his throughout the course of his illness; his sons John Edward, William K., and Emanuel J. Smith; He also leaves his step –children Art Conley, Michael Conley, Edward Conley, Renita Conley, Kim (Maurice) Jackson, Celeste Conley, Corey Fellows, and Andre Fellows; and one sister Celeste Allen. He also leaves behind his grandchildren JR, Janelle, Jordon, and Lisa; great-grandchildren Jaraya and Jakala Wilson; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was a loving husband, father, step-father, grandfather to all natural and step children alike, and great-grandfather.
