Our dear Fernadele Pfeiffer passed away Wednesday, September 5th 2018 at her daughter’s home in Winthrop. Born Fern Adele Samelson, to her parents Kenneth LaVerne Samelson and Jeanette Rebecca Mason, on December 18, 1920 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Fernadele was the eldest of three daughters.
She grew-up in South Dakota and often talked of her memories there. Known for being a strong-willed young woman she was also a good student and hard worker. Fernadele married Lloyd E. Smith in Wheaton, Minnesota, on February 17, 1940, when she was 19 years old. They had three children together, Sharon, Lynda and Jerry. Fernadele and Lloyd moved to Seattle in 1942 during the war effort so he could join the Navy. They lived in and around Seattle, including Bryn Mawr and Skyway.
Fernadele worked many years at the Boeing Company until retiring. Fernadele married Kedric Oliver Pfeiffer on May 13, 1972 and they made their home in Maple Valley where she resided until her death.
Fernadele will be remembered for her love and devotion to family, her many creative and artistic talents, and her head-strong spirit.
She is survived by her children, Sharon and Jerry, her sister, Cynthia, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The family invites you to celebrate her life at the reception following the graveside service.
