

Was born to Sophie and Henry Gores on September 18, 1927 in Bisbee, ND and passed away at the age of 87 on November 22, 2014 surrounded by his family. Harry had lifelong heart problems. His first heart attack in 1963, 2 open heart surgeries (9 bypasses), cardiac arrest in 2007, with congestive heart failure and kidney failure as cause of death.
His teen years were spent on a farm near Bisbee. Harry served our country in the Navy during World War II. After the war, he made his home in Renton, WA. Harry served on the Seattle Fire Department, owned a tavern, and retired from the construction business with over 50 years in the Painters Union. He worked on several of the high rise buildings and hospitals in Seattle.
Harry attended St. Stephen the Martyr Church, was head usher there for many years and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was in the American Legion for 27 years and also a lifetime member of the Elks Club.
He had a great sense of humor and loved to tease and play tricks on the family. He enjoyed entertaining people with magic tricks and has performed at church functions, senior centers, reunions and for many other groups. He always had children following him around waiting for him to pull a trick out of his pocket.
He is survived by his son, Larry Gores and daughter-in-law Sonya, 4 step-children, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters – Blanche Edwardson and Yvonne Meeker, 2 brothers – Harold Gores and Wayne Gores, numerous extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his first wife, Eunice; his second wife, Gertie; and 1 grandchild.
