

JoAnn Bryan, 87, of Puyallup, Washington, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026. Born on April 26, 1938, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, JoAnn lived a life defined by generosity, warmth, and devotion to her loved ones. She will be remembered as a deeply caring wife, mother, and friend whose kindness touched everyone she met.
Throughout her life, JoAnn found joy in the simple, beautiful moments—tending to her beloved garden, sewing with care, and nurturing her home with love and laughter. During her husband Jim Bryan’s years of military service, JoAnn provided a stable and loving foundation for their family, embodying strength and grace. Among her proudest accomplishments was helping to establish the Coal Miners monument and museum in Greenwood, Arkansas, a tribute to her heritage and community.
JoAnn is survived by her devoted husband, Jim Bryan, and her cherished daughters, Rhonda Massey and Hilliary Benningfield. Her strength and character carry through to her four grandchildren and their families: Bryan Massey and his wife Lexi, David Massey and his wife Dana, and their kids Dante and Dylan, Caleb Benningfield, and Nick Benningfield. Her legacy of love and generosity lives on through them and all who were lucky enough to know her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis “Cub” and Pauline Gordon., and her brother, Richard Gordon.
She will be deeply missed.
