Justin Kurt Dumas, Age 49, of Seattle, Washington passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2022.

JUST D", "JUS Dubeous”, was born April 2, 1973 in Chicago, Illinois.

He is preceded in death by his Father, Lawrence L. Dumas, his Sister, Valerie Dumas, and his Brother, Lamont Dumas. He is survived by his mother, Dawn E. Kucera, his lifelong Sister, Juliana Cain (Darrell Cain), and his two lifelong Brothers, Damon L. Dumas (Joy Dumas), and Lee A. Dumas (Louise McBrearty), as well as Brother Tyrone Dumas. He is also survived by his (3) children, Jordan Madonia (Elena), Devin Madonia, and Maryah Dumas, and (4) grandchildren. as well as Nyki Madonia (Jordan & Devin), Taesha Shawn Horne (Maryah), and Simone Kettaneh, mothers of his children and all very special women in his life. He is further memorialized by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, close friends, and extended family.

Justin was a free spirit, with his freedom to create, explore, and move around freely being paramount in his life. Justin is best known for the MUSIC he created throughout his life. He was an extremely talented Rapper, Producer, and Beat Maker.

Those of us still walking this earth can listen to his beautiful, ingenious, and sometimes, soul-stirring, music at any time. This is one of the greatest gifts he left this world. “Comin’ up in the ‘burbs”, “Rise of the Mulatto”, and “Long Ass Road” are three of his signature tracks.

The biggest and best gifts he left are his three children. In these amazing young folks, and their children is endless potential and possibilities for their lives. The good Lord knows that he loved and cared about his children implicitly, though his path in life may not always reflect that, let the record show that we KNOW it to be true.

Justin was a gentle spirit- a man you met and realized he didn’t want to do harm to anyone. Some of our best memories of Justin are having laughing fits together, not even sure what we were laughing at sometimes, but with some kind of general understanding between us that we were laughing at the absurdity and irony of this life! In those moments we knew that we just loved each other, a few souls banded together in this world. He was Loved!!

Justin was also a very bright, sharp-witted, intelligent, inspiring, and sensitive man. He was naturally good with numbers and mathematics and was extremely insightful with folks he cared a lot about, as well as people’s general plights in life. His insight and the depth of his soul are revealed in his music. He was a guy that you just knew was “special” in some way.

Justin’s talent, artistry, and charisma will live on in the legacy of his music and his story. He struggled and survived along with our original Five, but he was the first of us to be called home.

It is one of the only truly calming, reassuring thoughts in this time of suffering his loss here on Earth, in that he has definitely transitioned on to a better place, where he is free of the pain and struggles we all face in varying degrees and different ways in this life.

Rest in Peace, and Rest in Power, Little Brother!! We Love You, We Got You, and We’ll SEE You Again!!
