

Robert Gerard Banasky, affectionately known to many as Bob, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 9th, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on December 17, 1950, in Renton, Washington, he was the beloved son of the late George and Claire Banasky.
Bob spent his entire life in the Pacific Northwest. A devoted family man, he built a strong foundation of love and commitment with his beloved wife, Diane Banasky. They recently celebrated 50 wonderful years of marriage, a testament to their enduring partnership and dedication of the life they created together.
He dedicated 35 years of his career to Puget Sound Energy (PSE), where he was a valued employee until his retirement in 2010. Outside of work, Bob was a man of many passions. He was a lifelong fisherman, an avid enthusiast of horse racing, and possessed a remarkable "green thumb," always nurturing his garden with care. Known for his incredible generosity and hospitality, he always had a spot at his table for anyone in need. He was loved by all those who met him.
He leaves behind a legacy of family, survived by his children and grandchildren. His daughter Rebecca Banasky-Jones and son-in-law Eric, with their children Connor, Brady, Wyatt, and George. His daughter Monica Schmuck and son-in-law Scott, with their son Brennan. His son Michael Banasky. His daughter Carolyn Banasky. His son Jonathan Banasky and daughter-in-law Sarah, with their children Owen, Aiden, and Easten.
He is also survived by his devoted sister Barbara Smith and her partner Glen, his nephew Justin Pattyn, his nephew Josh Pattyn and wife Mary, and great nieces Claire and Grace.
Bob's warmth, kindness, and devotion to his family will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 19th, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Renton, Washington. A celebration of his life will follow the funeral at The Eagles in Downtown Renton. Please join us and as Bob would say “Eat a lot and give the house a good name”.
