

Ervin C. Bessa, age 93, of Pelican Lake, died Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at Friendly Village Nursing Home surrounded by his loved family. He was born on August 10, 1920 to Clemens and Stella (Muraski) Bessa in Chicago Illinois. Ervin moved with his family at age three, to Monico, WI, where he became a lifelong resident of the Monico-Pelican Lake area. Erv served with the 711 Tank Battalion during World War II in the Pacific Theater, landing on Okinawa on April 1st 1945. He was a self-employed logger working well into his 80’s. He enjoyed deer hunting with friends and family and attended reunions for many years with his army buddies from WWII. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and hanging out at the Stella-Clemens Hunting Lodge.
Ervin is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Imogene V., his children Sharon of Middleton, Wisconsin, Rodney (Patty) of Pelican Lake, Daryl (Susan) of Lake Villa, Illinois, his grandchildren; Jessica, Kelly, Chance, Kyle, and Layne, and his great-grandchildren; Zola, Mack, Fisher, and Joe. He is also further survived by his brother Robert and two sister-in-laws as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Randy, siblings Dolores Voight, Janet Huven, Florence Huven, Elaine Moore, Eugene, Richard, and Leonard.
A funeral service will be Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 11:00am at Hildebrand Russ Funeral Home with Deacon Ron Bosi officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00am until the time of service.
