Kathleen Ann Vickman

Kathleen Vickman, age 99, of Rhinelander passed away peacefully on January 16, 2013 in Minneapolis surrounded by many of her family. Kathleen was born December 2, 1913 in Rhinelander, the daughter of Joseph and Polly (Pospychalla) O’Malley. She attended St Mary Grade School and later graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1932. On August 31, 1940 she married Harold Vickman. They enjoyed nearly 50 years of marriage until his death in 1990. Before her marriage, Kathleen was employed by Montgomery Wards in Rhinelander as a department head. During her entire life she was a member Nativity of Our Lord-St. Mary Parish.

Kathleen is survived by her two sons, John (Shuz) Vickman and Thomas (Karen) Vickman; grandchildren Scott, Kurt, Shannon, Zachary, and Michael; great-grandchildren Kai, Charlie, Sophia, Bella, Taylor, Ryan, Cole, Brody, and Kinsley. In addition to her husband and parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas O’Malley, sister, Gay (Joseph) Miazga, and daughter-in-law Diane (John) Vickman.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Nativity of Our Lord Parish-St Mary on Saturday January 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Hildebrand Russ Funeral Home (715-365-4343) is assisting the family with arrangements.
