Lorraine Mildred Taylor

Lorraine M. Taylor, age 87, died Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Friendly Village Nursing & Rehabilitation. Lorraine was born in Antigo, Wisconsin on October 13, 1924 the daughter of Albert and Esther (Reeves) Zwicky. She was a 1942 graduate of Antigo High School. Lorraine was united in marriage on September 28, 1942 to John Taylor. They made their home in Antigo and Pelican Lake before moving to Rhinelander in 1949. Lorraine had been a Bookkeeper for family construction companies, retiring in 2005. Lorraine was a member of Seventh-Day Adventist Church, and the Rhinelander A.A.R.P. Chapter 1076, and a member of the Eastern Star and White Shrine. Lorraine had participated as a Volunteer at Friendly Village Nursing Home. She enjoyed traveling to visit relatives as well as gardening. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Lorraine is survived by her loving sons: Gary A. (Barbara) Taylor, and John “Tom” (Judith) Taylor all of Rhinelander, two grandchildren: Debarah Taylor and Gary A. (Lisa) Taylor, two great-granddaughters: Melisa Schwarz, and Angela Schwarz, and by one great-great-granddaughter: Isabella. Also survived by a brother: Donald (Delores) Zwicky of Walnut Creek, CA, two sisters: Phyllis Whitford of Graham, WA, Judy Deschane of Valley, WA, sister-in-law: Joyce Guensberg of Loves Park, IL, and by her longtime friend and sister-in-law: Iris House. Lorraine is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John A. Taylor on November 22, 1985.

Funeral services for Lorraine will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Rhinelander Seventh-Day Adventist Church with Pastor Charles Kohley officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until 1:45PM. Interment will be held at Northland Memorial Park.
