Barbara Ann Frank

Born February 17, 1933 in Houston, Barbara graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and Texas Women’s University. She taught fourth grade in DISD for 29 years and was named Teacher of the year in 1967. She had many interests- traveling, camping, gardening, ceramics and woodworking. Barbara never met a stranger and had a winning smile, even during her long, debilitating illness. On April 10, 2015 Barbara went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We rejoice that her healing is now complete.

Preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Myrvin and Beatrice (Cox) Frank; Sister Carol Lee Frank; Brother-in-law Wiley Lastor and her beloved dog, Cricket, Barbara is survived by siblings Tom (Carrie) Frank of Madill OK; Hazel Lastor of Sherman; Robert (Jan) Frank of Greenville; Jon (Margie) Frank of Dallas; Jane McDonald of Waxahachie; her sister-in-Christ, Pat Notley of Garland and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held noon Saturday, May 2nd, at New Liberty Baptist Church, 333 W. Centerville Road, Garland TX 75041. Brother Ken Ashlock, Pastor Mark Clements and Tom Frank will officiate Barbara’s Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to New Liberty Baptist Church Children’s Renovation Fund.
