Brownie Price Newton

Brownie Price Newton, 77, passed away peacefully in her home on October 7, 2023, in Richardson, Texas. She was born on February 1, 1946, in Dalton, Georgia to John E. Price, Jr. and Martha Rice Price. Brownie was raised in Houston, Texas, and attended Poe Elementary, Lanier Junior High, and Lamar High School. She attended Stephen’s College in Columbia, Missouri. She married Tom Newton on July 19, 1973, and together they raised three sons in Houston, Texas. Brownie moved to Richardson, Texas in 2008 to be closer to her children and grandchildren.

Brownie was known for her bright eyes and warm smile. She was loved by many for her kindness and will be remembered for thoughtful gatherings in her home and her beautiful garden. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She dedicated time to her PEO sisters and her FUMCR Women’s group.

Brownie is survived by her three sons and their families, John and Sally Newton, Price and Kim Newton, Owen and Jennifer Newton, grandson Oliver, granddaughters Georgia, Emily, Allison, Lily, and Molly, her sister Cynthia and husband Judson Bowman, stepsister Leslie Resthoff, stepbrothers David Heidemann and Marc Heidemann and former husband Tom Newton and many other family members and friends.

The visitation for Brownie will be held from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM on November 17 at Sparkman Funeral Home, 1029 S. Greenville Ave, Richardson, Texas 75081.
