Originally from Steubenville, Ohio, Caroline made Texas her beloved home beginning in 1963.
She retired from Wonder Bread Bakery, and in her later years she embraced her love of travel—especially cruises. Whether enjoying good food, quiet moments of reflection at the beach, or simply the beauty of God’s creation all around her, cruises became one of her greatest pleasures. The ocean was her happy place, and those trips created some of her most treasured memories.
Caroline was also a devoted and faithful member of Richardson East Baptist Church, where she found community, purpose, and fellowship.
Caroline was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Charles; her parents, Oscar and Mary Holmes; her brothers, Bill and Darrell; and her sisters, Kathryn and Carmen.
She is survived by her children: Charles Penny; Cynthia and her husband, Richard Flores; Christina Diaz; and Christopher and Michelle Hawkins. She leaves behind 15 grandchildren, great‑grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
