Charles Laverne Lee

Charles L Lee. Born July 7, 1923, folded his wings on Monday morning, December 5, 2011. He retired in 1989 as an executive at Ford Motor Co after 42 years of service. Decorated for his service in WWII, 8th Air Force, 446th Bomb Group as waist gunner aboard B-24 bomber the Naughty Nan, leading the D-Day Invasion. Served in Korean War as CID agent. He was an avid golfer all his life and shot a hole-in-one four times. Preceded in death by; father, Charley Lee of Guin, AL; mother, Leona Dodd of Memphis, TN; and stepfather Hollis F Dodd of Memphis, TN. Survived by: Wife of 61 years, Lillian T Lee; Sons, Charley (Art) and David Lee; Daughters, Becky Lee-Denniston and Sheryl Elliott; Grandchildren: Justin Lee, Stacie Elliott, Ramon Elliott, Darla Freeman, Courtney Elliott, Lindsey Elliott, Thompson Lee, Georgianna Lee; Great grandchildren: Tyler Lee, Jaqoriun Elliott, Colten Lee, Katelynn Lee, Lillian Marie Elliott. The family will receive friends, Thursday, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held, 10:30 AM, Friday, December 9, 2011, Sparkman Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at DFW National Cemetery at 12:45 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011 Washington, DC 20090.
