

Dorothy was born to Walter Drummond Clark and Winnie Lee (Price) Clark in Dallas, Texas on July 23, 1930. A child of the depression and world war II, she was smart, strong willed and independent. Her father, who had served in World War I, was a painting contractor and her mother was a seamstress. The family moved to San Antonio at the start of WWII, where he headed a painting crew building the large military bases there. Growing up, Dorothy excelled in liberal arts. She was an excellent artist, talented musician (piano), Fluent in spanish and could speak french.
Dorothy attended SMU majoring in Commercial Art before the love of ice skating drew her in another direction. In 1946 she became a professional skater with the Ice Capades. She was chosen to join the team that opened the first skating rink in Mexico City and she moved there in 1947. In Mexico City she met her first husband Jose Adrian Valdes and they returned to Dallas in 1948. In 1949 they had a son Lee.
Dorothy married her second husband, Bobby Eugene Mulkey in 1955. They had two sons Kenneth Allen and Walter Eugene. The family moved to Mesquite, Texas in 1960 where Dorothy focused on raising the family, playing church piano and entertaining her sons with songs from Broadway and Hollywood musicals.
After all the boys were in school, she went to work outside the home. In 1968 Dorothy married her third husband, Richard A. Harrison. They had no children. She became the office manager for a large dermatology practice, a position she loved and where she remained until retirement at age 77. In retirement, Dorothy focused on cooking (she was an excellent cook), sewing, working the New York Times crossword puzzles and playing her piano.
Dorothy is survived by three sons; Lee Mulkey and wife Linda of Colleyville, Texas; Ken Mulkey and wife Christi of Plano, Texas and Walter Mulkey and wife Michelle of Murphy, Texas. She is survived by grandchildren; Jessica (Mulkey) Martin of Fort Worth, Josh Mulkey and wife Misty of Garland, Texas; Garrett Mulkey and wife Molly of Carrollton, Texas; Tony Tomlinson and Terra Tomlinson of Plano; Taylor Tomlinson of Odessa, Texas; Turner Tomlinson of Austin, Texas; Mitchell Mulkey of San Marcus, Texas; Meghan Mulkey of Murphy. Dorothy is also survived by 4 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
A graveside service for Dorothy will be held Friday, June 24, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.
