
Eugene Mauldin Terrell, 90, died October 23, 2011, with many of his loved ones by his side. He was married to Glennie Rae Sandlin Terrell, who preceded him in death on April 8, 2010. Eugene was born September 26, 1921, in Bells, Texas to Mauldin Milton Terrell and Bessie P. McGee. Eugene was a World War II veteran and served in the United States Army Air Corps from 1942-1945. He owned and operated several Dry Cleaning and Laundry operations in Dallas, Plano and Richardson. He was a Master Mason and a member of Empire Lodge No. 586 in Nevada, Texas. Eugene could accomplish anything he set his mind to do.
Eugene is survived by three children from a previous marriage to Melba L. Harrelson; M. Gene Terrell and wife Brenda, Steven G. Terrell and wife Sally and Brenda L. Terrell Summers and husband Joel, all of Allen. He is also survived by his sister, Peggy Snider of Allen, his sister-in-law Sandra Pellham and husband David of Dallas, brother-in-law Terry Sandlin and wife Peggy of Homer Louisiana, along with many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family is grateful to Sandra Pellham, Gene & Brenda Terrell, Collinwood Nursing & Rehabilitation in Plano, American Hospice and Victoria Gardens in Allen for the great care they each gave to Eugene since Glennie’s passing in April, 2010.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 7 – 9pm and a Memorial Service will be Thursday at 3pm at Sparkman Funeral Home at 1029 S. Greenville Avenue, Richardson, Texas. The casket flowers were planned for and provided by Glennie, a final gift to her “GT” and a beautiful demonstration of the great love she had for him.
There will be a private Graveside Service at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Bienville, Louisiana, where Eugene will be laid to rest next to his beloved Glennie.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
