James Francis Gavett Jr.

James Gavett, Jr, age 85, of Richardson, TX, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025. He was born in Minneapolis, MN on April 24, 1940. He was married to his wife, Elizabeth Steien, on September 24, 1966.

Jim had a career in corporate accounting and bookkeeping for Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO).

Jim and his wife, Elizabeth, were one of the founding families of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Richardson, TX. He was a private man who enjoyed scrapbooking and exploring family history.

He was survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Elizabeth Gavett, and their four children: Marie Gavett, Michael Gavett and his wife Carissa, Christine Peach and her husband Ken, and Julie Dickerson and her husband Craig. He had six grandchildren, Nolan Gavett (Jessica), Macie Gavett, Garrett Dickerson, Ryan Dickerson, Matthew Peach, and Makayla Peach, along with four great-grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM, May 27, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Richardson, TX. Visitation and rosary will be held prior to Mass starting at 9:30 AM.
