Jeffrey Max Legg

Jeff is survived by his wife, Nancy (Meyer) Legg of Candor, NY; his parents, Max and Barbara (Parkey) Legg of Richardson, TX; his sister, “Edie” Legg Kahrhoff and husband Sean and nephew Peyton of Portland, OR; his brother Troy Legg of Ithaca, NY; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. His extended family includes in-laws Russell and Karen Meyer and sisters-in-law Linda and Janet. He will also be missed by his loving canine companions PJs and Famous.

Jeff grew up in Richardson attending Richardson schools including Berkner HS class of ’96. He graduated in 2000 from Austin College in Sherman, TX where he received a BA in psychology, was a member of the varsity swim team, Chi Delta Eta, and Delta Phi Nu. Jeff made his profession of faith in Jesus Christ at a very young age having grown up at First Baptist Church of Richardson, TX and was active in the Youth group. Jeff joined the Army, 1st Cavalry as a result of 9/11 and served from January 2002 until January 2006 including a tour in Iraq. While in the army, he achieved the rank of Sgt. Jeff and Nancy were married in 2006. They moved to Ithaca, NY in 2008 to open a Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwich Shop with Troy.

Jeff had a very kind and gentle heart and now lives in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was happiest when he was surrounded by the ones he loved and when helping others. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and whose lives he touched.

A visitation with friends and family will be held on Sunday, January 8th from 4 – 6pm at Sparkman Funeral Home in Richardson, TX. A full military burial will be at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, TX, at 9:30 on Monday, January 9. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Richardson. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ASPCA or Ronald McDonald House.
