

Born September 21, 1932 in Blue Grove, TX to Ruby Lee Crump and Charles (Dutch) Price. Most of his early years were in Sweetwater, Texas. After high school graduation, went to work at U.S. Gypsum Company as a lab tester where he stayed 4 years. Then decided to attend The University of Texas at Austin where he worked his way through with part-time jobs. Graduated in 1959 with a BBA degree in Personnel & Industrial Management.
While at Texas, he met his future wife (Phyllis Ann) who also obtained a BBA degree in 1956. Jim and Phyllis had two children (Shelley Ann and James Russell). Those children grew up and married wonderful partners and produced 3 wonderful grandchildren.
Went to work with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Dallas, Texas in their staff assistant training program where he learned of all departments over the course of a year. Assigned to Traffic Department.
After some years, Jim went to work at Chilton Credit Bureau Services where he managed several bureaus over the next 10 years in Texas City, Beaumont, Tucson, AZ and Reno, NV. When TRW bought out Chilton, Jim was transferred back to Dallas, TX where he went to work for Caterpillar and held various other jobs at Redmond Industries and personnel placement firms.
During the 30 years he lived in Richardson, TX, Jim worked with the Boy Scouts of America and spent every vacation going with the boys to places in New Mexico and
Wyoming, etc. until his son, Jimmy, became an Eagle Scout like his Dad.
Jim has always enjoyed hunting, fishing, racecar driving (raced at Laguna Seca in California) and photography. Reading was very high on his priorities and he usually read at least 4 books per week.
In later years, he enjoyed relaxing and drinking coffee with his many friends and acquaintances. Jim’s parents and brother died before him. Maisie Price (Roy’s wife) remains in Florida.
