

Early Life and Education
Jo Ann was born on March 20, 1932, in Waxahachie, Texas. She spent her formative years in a close-knit family that instilled in her the values of hard work and kindness. Jo Ann graduated from North Dallas High and went on to attend North Texas State University, where she furthered her education and laid the groundwork for her lifetime of endeavors.
Marriage and Family
Shortly after her time at university, Jo Ann married Henry Tobolka Jr., beginning a beautiful partnership that would span decades. Together, they created a nurturing home filled with love and laughter. Jo Ann was a devoted mother to her cherished sons; Cary, Mike, Ted, and her daughters-in-law; Mary, Ann and Tricia. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry, and her son, Cary.
Career and Achievements
Jo Ann enjoyed a successful career as a teacher, where she drew admiration for her compassion and commitment to student care. Her dedication to education fostered a lifelong bond with many students, who often returned to express their gratitude for the family values she instilled in them. Jo Ann’s impact extended beyond the classroom, as she helped shape the lives of countless young people.
Passion for Sports
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Jo Ann became an avid sports fan, fueled by her three sons' active participation in various sports. As a dedicated "Sports Mom," she developed a keen sense of sports strategy and was known for her enthusiastic support at games. Jo Ann attended the majority of her sons’ activities as a superfan, cheering them on with unwavering pride. This legacy of enthusiasm and support spanned three generations, inspiring her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to pursue their own passions with the same commitment.
Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren
Forever devoted to her grandchildren, Jo Ann took immense pride in their accomplishments and well-being. She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Christine (Kevin), Brooke, Michael, Kathleen, Quentan (Sophia), Hank, Jordan, Maggie (Sean),Emily and great grandchildren Adyson, Ashtyn, Avery, Anita, Bowen, Eve and Sparrow.
