Mary Ruth (Vanderslice) Owens, also known as “Tisser”, the nickname given to her by her youngest brother John, was loved by the many people who were part of her life. She was a dedicated wife, loving mother, and true friend. Her contagious smile and sense of humor made everyone laugh and her kindness to all was genuine. She will be truly missed. After a 14 year battle with Alzheimer’s, she passed away Dec 11, 2012 and is now resting in peace.
Survivors include two sons; Jeb J. Owens and his wife Veronica and Wade W. Owens and his wife Geraldine and two granddaughters Emilie and Ashley.
Services will be 10:30 am Thursday (today) at DFW National Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Sparkman Funeral Home of Richardson.
