

Robert Henson Rogers, Jr., passed away peacefully at the age of 89 of natural causes, in Dallas TX on January 10, 2017. He was born on November 21, 1927. Henson is a Highland Park High School graduate and attended SMU. He is an Air Force veteran in World War II and was stationed at Love Field. Henson worked for Dun and Bradstreet for 35 years, where he met his wife, Jimmie Sue, retiring in 1985. He went back to work for Dallas Computer Service as a sales representative for ten years. Henson retired again, and then went back to work as a member of the Appraisal Review Board for the Dallas County Appraisal District, serving three two-year terms, then returning this last year for another term at the age of 88.
Henson was a voracious book reader. He was president of the PTA at Dan Rogers Elementary School. He was also a Cub Scout leader and a real estate broker.
Henson is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Jimmie Sue Rogers; his parents, Henson and Marguerite Rogers; and his sister, Margaret Gearhart.
He is survived by his sons, Roger Rogers and Henson Rogers III; and his daughter-in-law, Kat Rogers.
A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Dallas on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 2:00 PM.
