Rudolph Perez a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 6th surrounded by family and friends. Born and raised in the Dallas area of Little Mexico, he and his three brothers; David, Daniel, and Paul; grew up in a family that valued their Catholic faith and a strong work ethic. His early education began at St. Anne’s School & his support of the cultural area continued through his patronage of the St Anne’s Alumni & Friends of Little Mexico organization. A proud member of the 1974 graduate class of Jesuit College Preparatory School, he found his love of music playing the trumpet in the jazz band and exemplified the Jesuit motto of “Men for Others.” While at school, he met the love of his life, Diane, and shared in forty plus years of adventures together. Their family grew to include three loving children who each came to embody the very best of Rudy. A lifelong Dallasite, he fell in love with the City of Richardson where he raised his family. Rudy never met a stranger and his likeability and personality helped him achieve great success as a reprographics salesman. The work family he cherished at Southwestern Blueprint saw many clients become close friends over the decades. The family found their faith home in Richardson with the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic community. As a member of the parish, Rudy was active in the Men’s Club and Eucharistic Ministry and served as President of the Pastoral Parish Council and always looked forward to the annual events where he could share his fellowship with his family. Rudy supported a cause dear to his heart through the White Rose Women’s Center and his tireless effort was rewarded each year with the success of the annual Golf Tournament. The love he had with his Diane was the guiding light his children used to find their own other half whom Rudy always welcomed as his own. Rudy’s greatest joy came from time spent with the family during family vacations or simply sitting by the pool. He was the proud grandfather of Nicholas Jr., Mary Elizabeth, Joshua, Elena, and Maura as well as countless grandpuppies. He was always the loudest supporter in the crowd cheering on his children and grandchildren as they pursued their passions on the field and in the classroom. He will always be remembered for the smile on his face, the warmth in his heart, and his generosity for others. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, David and Dora Perez, and father in law, Richard Ploch. He is survived by his wife Diane, sons Nicholas and his wife Christi; Benjamin and his wife Gaby; and daughter Angela and her husband Stephen; five grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the White Rose Women’s Center or St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church Memorial Prayer Garden.
