Virginia was born to Tracy and Carrie Nelson January 7th 1926 in Dallas. She grew up with her older brother Marshall on Oram Street within earshot of the streetcars of lower Greenville. Her father had a strong belief in a creator that she embraced as well.
Her love of art led to her obtaining an art degree at SMU in 1948. A year later she married Max Howard Booth and they moved to Baton Rouge where they had their first son, Max Jr. Two years later, after moving to Austin, in 1952 son 2 arrived, Nelson. Then the family moved to Virginia where son 3, William, in 1954 and son 4 Harry, in 1960 were born. This was the time in her life she began searching for answers to spiritual questions. This was also the time when Jehovah’s Witnesses knocked on her door. She began studying the Bible with them and found those long searched for answers and more.
In 1964 the family moved to Hendersonville, Tennessee where she continued her Bible study and on June 25th 1965 she was baptized in Old Hickory Lake as a symbol of her dedication to Jehovah God. She soon found herself raising 4 boys on her own in this new place, but the congregation took her in and helped her through this difficult time.
In 1971 she moved back to Dallas to care for her ageing parents. After the passing of her mom in 1985 she took up helping others learn the Bible fulltime, or “Pioneering”. She graduated Pioneer School the following year and for the remaining years of her life helped many learn the beautiful Bible truths that she so cherished.
She was a second mom to many, opened her heart and even her home to those in need and with the help of her friends remained active in the ministry till near her death this last November 12th.
She is survived by her 4 sons, Max’s wife Chris, William’s wife Anita, Grandson Ryan Booth and his wife Lisa, Grandson Max Booth III, great grandsons Logan and Nolan Booth and her niece Susie Bailey. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Marshall and her niece Cassandra Jackowski.
She looked forward to seeing them as we look forward to seeing her in the coming resurrection Jesus spoke of in the Bible at John 5:28 & 29.
