Fledia J Terry-Duke

Fledia J Terry-Duke, age 65, of Richmond, CA passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021. Fledia was born December 3, 1955 in Greenville, TX to Russell and Ava Terry. She accepted Christ at an early age, and participated in several Church activities as presented.

Fledia attended Greenville public schools where she enjoyed all subjects of study. She left her mother’s home and relocated to Paris, TX to attend Paris Junior College, where she was enrolled in their nursing program.

In 1989, Fledia’s life journey brought her to Richmond to be closer to her mother and siblings. She was a resident of Contra Costa County, for 32 years and had been employed with the Campbell’s Soup Corporation as well as, Pacific Bell before it was purchased by A T & T. At the time of her passing, Fledia had been a homemaker for the last 20 years.

Fledia had two children, Nicole and Jermaine whom she cherished with all of her love. She enjoyed listening to music, was an avid reader, loved to dance and have fun with family and friends.

Fledia’s favorite scripture was Psalm 23 especially verses 1a, which she would quote most often, “The Lord is my Shepherd!” Fledia’s Bible was her most enjoyable book to read.

Fledia is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Duke; son Jermaine; both parents Russell and Ava Terry; grandparents William and Florell Wallick; brother’s Rusty Ricky and Ronnie Terry; sisters Donna, and Wendy Terry; uncles William and Phillip Wallick; an aunt Darlene Morris; one nephew Dentarris Terry; a niece Tavia Terry; four cousins Donald, Dwayne and Amechia Wallick; and Nakeisha Jackson.

Fledia was a loving, strong woman in her essence and was a beautiful gift to those who knew her. She leaves a lifetime of memories that will be cherished forever by her daughter, Nicole Terry-Dunn (Terry); grandsons Kenneth Dunn, III, Kajuan Dunn, and Jermaine Terry, Jr.; one granddaughter Kenisha Dunn; three great grandsons Chance, Christian, and Chad Dunn, all of Richmond, CA; sister Candy Anderson of Dublin, CA; cousins Dionne Wallick of Henderson, NV; Randy Wallick of Rowlette, TX; Tonda Graves of Stockton, CA; Jonathan Wallick of Greenville, TX, Teria Worthan of Fairfield, CA; Kenny and Randy Wallick of Los Angeles, CA, Sonja Saulsberry of Hawthorne, CA; Natasha Green of Fortworth, TX, Brackett Wallick and Tamisha Wilkins of Antioch, CA, Roderick, Keith, and Tracy Whetstone of Commerce, TX, Rusty , Jr. of Greenville, TX; Domisha and Nicholas Weatherall of Dallas, TX, Michelle Williams of Greenville, TX; Brittani and Terry of Napa, CA, Corey Anderson of Dublin, CA; Tenesha Anderson of Stockton, CA; DenTanna Terry of Phoenix, AZ, and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
