Anita Smith Beard

Emma Anita Smith Beard “Mamaw” 90 of Richmond, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015. preceded in death by her husband Joseph Beard Jr and her parents Aubrey Smith and Katherine Smith Drinard, and her sister Murial. She is survived by her three sons: Joseph Judson Beard, Rodney Frank Beard and wife Deborah, and Dean Elliott Beard and wife Carol, two granddaughters Whitney Anne Bennetch and husband Jimmy and Katherine Taylor Beard, two great grandchildren Waverly and Thatcher.

Anita graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1942. She was a homemaker and mother to her three sons and then proceeded to graduate number one in her class from J. Sargeant Reynolds School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1978. Anita was a member of Three Chopt Presbyterian Church

The family will receive friends from 11:30-12:30 PM Monday, October 19, 2015 at Woody Funeral Home on 1771 N. Parham Rd, Richmond. There will be a graveside service following at 1:00pm at Greenwood Memorial Gardens 12609 Patterson Ave.
