We were very saddened to hear of Barry's passing. He was such a kind and thoughtful person. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

It was a distinct honor to have known Barry---his calm and sincere demeanor was reassuring whether in the air or on the ground. His compassion for others was underscored by his cautious and professional approach he used when flying---always making safety and comfort a priority. Our heartfelt sympathy extends to his family and all those who knew and loved him---may his legacy live on through the lives he touched.

I just heard about it today. Barry was my friend - JoAnn, know that I am sorry for your loss. I plan to see you Sunday. I recently spoke with him, and he told me about the house he was building. What a great guy. He was a good friend and a pleasure to fly with; and to know. Our trips on my boat are treasures I'll hold forever.

I've known Barry since childhood but also from our early adult years in Richmond, and more recently through our mutual love of sailing.  In fact, Barry was my "expert" when I bought my current boat in 2006.  I will be unable to attend his memorial service this weekend, but please know that my sympathies are with his family and friends.

We are so sorry to learn of Barry's passing.  He was a great neighbor when we lived next door to him in Richmond.  JoAnn, Heather and Heidi -- you have our sincere sympathy.  Jean and Jack Hanky

Barry was always a thoughtful and pleasant person and a well respected pilot. As a pilot I really appreciated Barry's approach to his piloting responsibilities and knew that his judgments were well seasoned with knowledge,experience and great skill. My thoughts are with his family.

Barry was a true and loyal friend who shared many enjoyable times with me and our mutual friends.  He was kind and gentle, and always a pleasure to  be with.  We will miss him dearly.

My sincere condolences to Barry's family. Barry was a gentleman and always pleasant. As a pilot he was cautious and made each flight pleasant for his passengers. Barry, I know you had a happy landing!

Barry was one of the most pleasant gentlemen that I have known.  I looked forward to flying with Barry.  I knew that it would be a safe, comfortable and pleasant trip.

Barry was both a good man and a great pilot. I always appreciated his cautious approach to flying. He never took unnecessary chances so if he said it's okay to fly, you could take it to the bank. He also remembers ours names, even those of us who flew infrequently. You just couldn't help but like Barry. Southern States was fortunate to have had him as Chief Pilot.

Barry was one of the kindest, most gentle man I have known.  In my capacity at Southern States Cooperative in the insurance department, he was most helpful and accurate.  His flying skills were impeccable and he was highly respected among all his peers. He will be greatly missed.
