

Bonnie Pleasants Friedman, 70, of Mechanicsville, VA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents Curtis P. and Elizabeth D. Pleasants of Highland Springs, VA. She is survived by her husband, Eric Jon Friedman, sons Christopher Michael Pate of Mechanicsville and Curtis Lee Pate (Kasey) of Sandston; Sisters Janice P. Felts of Mechanicsville and Judith P. Kirkpatrick (James) of Sandston. Three Grandchildren, Seth Jeffreys (Ashley), Mackenzie Wolf (Sam), and Parker Pate; Two great grandchildren, Sarah and John; Three nieces Jennifer Platek (Corey), Kathleen Felts, and Laura F. Hicks (Josh). Friends, Michael and Melanie Berman and son Benjamin who were like family. She served in the U.S. Army and retired after a 30-year career with the City of Richmond. She loved the Lord and served at Tikvat Israel Messianic Synagogue in Richmond. She enjoyed music, traveling, reading, shopping and trying new recipes. She was a huge lover of cats and acquired quite a collection of cat memorabilia. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 4, from 4 to 5 for family and 5 to 8 pm for friends and family at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N Parham Rd, Richmond, VA 23229. Funeral Service will be held at 10am, Wednesday, March 5th at Tikvat Israel Messianic Synagogue at 2715 Grove Ave, Richmond, VA 23220. Guests can park at the parking deck at Retreat Hospital, 3rd floor. Shuttle service will be provided at North Robinson Street to and from the Synagogue. Limited handicapped parking on Grove Ave. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park, Sandston.
