Obituary of Col. B. Doug Miller
Colonel Brian Doug Miller US Air Force, Retired August 20th, 1946 - February 1st, 2019 Doug died peacefully surrounded by family on February 1st, 2019. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Taisook Miller, children Samantha Jones and Doug Miller, six granddaughters, and brother Denny. Doug was born on the South side of Chicago on August 20, 1946, son of Eileen and John. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1969 and graduated from Loras College with a Bachelors of Arts in History and Political Science in 1971. He then received his Masters in Arts for Business Management and Supervision from Central Michigan University in1976. He served in the Air Force for 29 years and retired as a Colonel. After his military retirement, Doug went on to work for multiple defense contractors for several years. He spent his free time playing in a classic rock band "Code Purple", watching movies, and golfing. Doug will be remembered for his humor, his devotion to his family, and his love of music. Funeral services will be held on September 12th, 2019 at 10:45 AM in the Ft Myer Chapel, followed by the burial at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors. A reception to celebrate his life will be held at the Spates Community Club & Conference Center following the ceremony.
