

PIKE, Emily S., 90, of Richmond, Va., formerly of Yorktown Heights, NY and White Plains, NY, died Saturday, January 3, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Jack D. Pike, of Richmond, Va. She leaves a daughter, Susan Lee Pike and a grandson, Daniel Pike Leslie of Somers and Brooklyn, NY; a son, Douglas Pike, his wife Susan Nagel Pike, and two grandchildren, Wesley Pike and Hannah Pike of Richmond, Va.
Mrs. Pike was a retired administrative assistant from the Board of Cooperative Educational Services in Yorktown Heights, NY. She was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, and served during World War II. A loving mother and grandmother, she was dedicated to serving her family and the churches where she was an active member. At the Yorktown United Methodist Church she served as youth leader, choir member and president of the United Methodist Women. At Trinity United Methodist Church, where she also served as president of the United Methodist Women, she helped establish a prison ministry. In her later years she was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church. To know her was to love her. She will always be missed.
The family will receive friends from 10am to 12pm, on Tuesday, January 6, with a brief funeral service to follow at noon. This will take place at the Parham Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N Parham Rd, Richmond. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park.
