Hallie Penn Hawthorne Gunn

Hallie Penn Hawthorne Gunn, 85, of Richmond, Virginia, wife of the late Morris Edward Gunn Sr., passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012. She is survived by three children, Morris E. Gunn Jr. (Brenda C.) of Richmond, Burton A. Gunn (Denise W.) of Chester, Va., and Wanda L. Gunn (Randolf L. Richards) of Richmond; sister, Dorothy Woodson (Phillip) of Richmond; six grandchildren, Matthew Morris Gunn (Sarah), Brooke Gunn Wojdyla (David), Louis Wyatt III, Kevin Wyatt, Krystal Penn Fisher (Shawn), Casey Greer Torrence (Joseph); 15 great-grandchildren, Charles A. Gunn, Samuel S. Gunn, Ava E. Wojdyla, Lucy E. Wojdyla, Louis Wyatt IV, Kayla Wyatt, Ryan Wyatt, Courtney Crotts, Christian Crotts, Ellie Greer Torrence, Caden Pierce Fisher, Riley Scott Torrence, Peyton Penn Fisher, Carter Lynn Torrence, Reed Michael Fisher. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, R. Ellis Hammack.

Mrs. Gunn was an active member of Westhampton United Methodist Church for over 50 years and the ACCA Temple Castanets. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 27 in the chapel at the Masonic Home of Virginia. Visitation will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 27 with funeral services to follow at 5 p.m. at Westhampton United Methodist Church. Interment will be private.
