

Jason Rock Taylor, of Richmond, Va., passed away on July 2, 2012. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mary Durrett Rock of Richmond, William R. Rock of Chester, Va.; paternal grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Charles V. Taylor of Little Rock, Ark. He is survived by his parents, David C. Taylor of Portsmouth, Va. and Anne Rock Taylor of Richmond; his half sister, Dawn Amile Newell of Cabot, Ark.; two uncles, Claude Rock of Chester and John T. Taylor of Jacksonville, Fla.; one aunt, Mary Jane Pedigo of Little Rock; first cousins, Wesley T. Rock of Chester, William D. Rock II of Goochland, Va., John Christopher Taylor of Lake City, Fla., Michael Pedigo of Little Rock, Cheryl Anne Aboul-Enein of Maryland, Jennifer Susan Taylor of Holiday, Fla.; and many other devoted family and friends whom Jason loved dearly. Jason was a true Renaissance man known for his creative and artistic talents. He attended Virginia Tech and V.C.U. and graduated from the N.Y. Film Academy. He was a teenage professional skateboarder long before the sport became popular. He also helped to create and play in a local band. Jason was a member of the Screen Actors Guild and, while in Los Angeles, he acted in small roles in TV and movies and did background work in other productions. He also ran a Kung Fu School in Los Angeles. He had a love of the unusual, liked trying new things and loved animals. We, who knew him, loved him dearly and will miss him forever. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 from 1 to 2 p.m., with a funeral service at 2 p.m. at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 North Parham Rd.
