I always enjoyed being around Aunt Jean. She was always laughing. She and I worked together at a clothing factory in Radford, VA. where we ate lunch together and shared our lives.  And being at Grandma Dickerson's when she and Uncle Blane were there was always fun. 

Love to you my family. Thinking of you during this difficult time with the loss of your wonderful Shanny.  

We personally dont know Jean, but met her son Tim & wife Gail about a 1yr ago at Captains George and had a nice time with this beautiful couple. We would like to express our sincere condolences to you Tim & Gail on the loss of your beloved mother. We are praying for strength & comfort in this time of need. I didn't know her ,,,but I'm friends with her sister Pat from my church Egdmont Christian Church in Christianburg Va,,,, she is walking hand and hand with God up and down the streets of gold and watching over her sister Pat and now she is at peace no pain no worries got a brand new Heavenly body ,,,, just like she was waiting for when her Heavenly Father called her and said it's time you came home where you belong ,,,R.I.P AMEN !!!!!!!!!!!

I met Jean  in 1972 at DMV.  We both were working in the Accident Processing section.  We didn't work together long but I have fond memories of her. She was always friendly and kind to everyone,  My. sincere sympathy to Jean's family and friend.

Jean was a dear lady and a member of a family dear to us. She was a true Hornbarger, loving and giving with no expectation of any thanks or praise. May God’s special peace and comfort be with each family member and friend. Hold to your memories in the coming days.

I have been thinking about you all.  We are so sorry for the familys’ loss. We be sending prayers up in the days and weeks ahead.  There are no words to erase the pain just take comfort in the memories you all have of Jean and will see her again one day.

She was preceded in death by her son, Mike Dickerson; Daughters, Pamela and Gretchen Dickerson; and brothers, Donald and Jr. Jean is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, James Dickerson; son, Tim Dickerson (Gail); daughter, Angela Gales (Fray); sister, Patricia Fulcher (Bill); 6 grandchildren, Michael, Brandon, Cameron (Anna), Justin (Jessica), Dylon (Holly), and Trey; 3 great-grandchildren Rilyen, Rhett, and Noah; a host of nieces and nephews; and her beloved pet, “baby” Willy.
