
passed away at home with his loving wife by his side on October 10, 2023 at age 69. Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Virginia Ligon of Emporia, Va. and two children, Catherine and Jeffrey. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Martha Keedwell Ligon (Toolie). Lynn is also survived by five sisters-in-law: Shirley Smith and husband, Tom; Betty Thrower and husband, Ronnie; Cille Allen and husband, Mike; Mary Small and husband, Jim; Nancy Ferguson and husband, Gene; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Born Dec. 19, 1953, Lynn grew up in Emporia, Va. and graduated from Greensville County High School where he played football. He attended Virginia Tech and graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in Business Administration. His career in banking spanned over 40 years until his retirement as Sr VP in the real estate trust department of SunTrust Bank. Lynn is a long-time member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Richmond. The family wishes to give thanks to friends Ross Agnew and River West and neighbors Robert and Monique Scott for their day-to-day support of both Lynn and Toolie. Caring for Lynn at home would not have been possible without them. Toolie would also like to thank her sister, Cille Allen, brother-in-law, Mike Allen and cousin, Linda Bachman, for their love and support throughout Lynn’s illness. The family would also like to recognize the wonderful staff from Suncrest Hospice Care and Synergy Home Health for their thoughtful care and professionalism. Contributions in Lynn’s memory can be made to the Liver Institute at VCU or the charity of your choice.
