

Judith Ann "Becky" Pennington, of Richmond, passed away January 8, 2011. She was a warm and friendly person who cared deeply about others and always had a kind sentiment to share. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jude; son, Scott Pennington and wife, Karen, and their children, Bradley, Hunter and Chase; daughter, Kimberlee Riccio and husband, Marco; brother, Pres Sloterbeck.
Mrs. Pennington was a graduate of Gettysburg college with a B.S. Degree in Education. She was a teacher and field hockey coach upon graduation in the Paoli Area School System in Pennsylvania. She earned certification in Secretarial Science from J. Sargeant Reynolds. Employment positions include proofreader for A.H. Robins Pharmaceutical Company, Crestar Bank and, most recently, the Enrolling Department of the Virginia House of Delegates. While attending Gettysburg, she played collegiate basketball and field hockey and was named to the All Southern Field Hockey Team. Recently she was inducted into the Gettysburg Athletic Hall of Fame. She was a member of the Chi-Omega Sorority. At Trinity Episcopal High School she coached tennis and field hockey. She played club hockey and officiated at both high school and college levels. She also played inter-club tennis for Avalon.
A visitation time with friends and family will be held Friday, January 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Road. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 1101 Forest Avenue, Richmond, Va., followed by interment in the St. Matthew's Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to National Kidney Foundation or Anglican Frontier Missions.
