Obituary of Karen Carr Belcher
Karen Carr Belcher (née Yeomans) mother, sister and dear friend passed away October 12, 2021 at age 55 in Richmond, Virginia after a long battle with lung disease. She is survived by her children Morgan Carr, Landen Carr and Jenna Belcher. She is also survived by her husband Troy Belcher and her siblings, Jeanne Faszewski (Steve), Robert Yeomans (Kate), and Kenneth Yeomans. Karen was born September 24, 1966 in Hartford, Connecticut to Kenneth and Margaret Yeomans who proceeded her in death. Karen was the youngest of her three siblings and after her early childhood in Connecticut moved with her family to Jacksonville, Florida and Richmond, Virginia. After completing her primary and secondary education in Richmond, Karen attended community college and worked in the medical field. Karen was married to David Carr of Richmond with whom she reared her children Morgan and Landen. Subsequently, Karen was married to Troy Belcher with whom she had her youngest child, Jenna Belcher. Karen was a devoted and adoring mother to her three children, a loving daughter, sister and aunt. She was also a committed advocate of animal shelter and rescue programs and dearly loved her big white dogs Sasha and Chloe. Though Karen had serious health challenges in her life, she always managed to maintain a hilarious sense of humor and she was bright, quick witted and fun. In addition to her children, Karen loved her parents, her devoted sister Jeanne, her brothers, her nephews and nieces, and her many friends who strengthened her through the challenges in her life. Friends and family will be received for visitation at the Woody North Parham Chapel in Richmond, Virginia from 5 to 8 PM on Friday, October 15, 2021. A burial service will be conducted at Greenwood Memorial Gardens at 11AM on Saturday October 16, 2021. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Karen’s honor to the Henrico Humane Society.
